Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4 An Earthly Enemy - A Heavenly Protector Several years ago, the Twin Towers were destroyed by an earthly enemy. At present time the USA is currently at "war" with terrorism. This has caused me to think about the Christian's warfare. We are also in a battle against Satan and his culprits. Just as real as the destruction and hatred that was and is displayed against the USA, so much more is the hatred and the desire of Satan to destroy Christians and their faith in Christ. I have asked myself, why does Satan tempt and try to destroy us on a daily basis, when he has already been defeated by death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Satan knows his final outcome. Many answers come to mind, but one is that Satan wants to destroy as many believers as he can. He is trying to weaken the Christian faith and bring as much hatred, division and discord into our Christian homes, churches and our country. Thank God, that through God's divine power, love, mercy and protection, we can live victorious each and every day. But this takes a daily commitment on our part of prayer, reading our Bibles and fellowshipping with believers and a willingness to serve. Prayer: Father, we give you praise and glory for salvation through your Son. In this time of war, hatred and destruction, please fill our hearts with your peace that passes all understanding. Help us access your power and love to live victoriously each day for your glory. Amen Verse: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 Vicki Berchtold |
