#Tesla_coil IRC Discussion Channel
The Tesla coil Irc discussion channel was founded by Jeremy Bair (Dead_Batry) and myself (XTOL)
in March of 1997. It was originally on the Talkcity IRC network but problems with that network
prompted us to move to XNET.
XNET is a global IRC network with servers spread across the Unted States and servers
in the UK, Denmark, South Africa and Australia.
If you have an IRC client program you may connect to irc.xnet.org. That assigns a
random XNET server. It may not be one located nearest you. Once online type
the command /links for a list of available servers.
Here is a list of some of the servers. Pick the one closest to you.
webserve.nc.us.xnet.org North Carolina
dockernet.wi.us.xnet.org Wisconsin
megalinks.or.us.xnet.org Oregon
republica.uk.eu.Xnet.org United Kingdom
inf.wa.au.xnet.org Australia
ethereal.jhb.za.xnet.org South Africa
If you do not have an IRC program I recommend getting mIRC. Its easy to use
and has lots of capability. And its free. Download it from the authors web page.

One you are connected to one of the XNET servers simply join the room
named #Tesla_coil. You will probably find me there (XTOL) or Corey Edmunds (Bad_Command)
The most common times are from 7 - 10 PM CST. Also a few of us can be found on later after 11 PM CST.
When arriving on the channel make your presence known. Make sure either myself or Bad_Command
recognizes you.
For our friends outside the USA the best times are 0100 - 0400 UTC or GMT.
I am usually also on for a time after 0500 UTC.
We reserve the right to establish appropriate topics for discussion and to remove those individuals
that do not adhere to the guidelines set forth.
