Featuring some pictures of the Tesla Coil project of Dan Murphy
and Gene Waldo
This is Gene's favorite contribution to the Project - Emptying the 40 oz. bottles for our Salt Water Capacitor! We plan to use 8 to 12 of them.
This is my first contribution - winding and mounting the air core chokes on 2 inch PVC coil forms. (Mounting blocks are white maple)
This is Waldo's custom design for a safety gap. Pretty slick, huh?
This is our first "breadboard" assembly of completed components, with my static spark gap of 1" copper pipe mounted on one end.
This is Gene's pride and joy, a beautifully constructed (and probably way too big!) aluminum duct Toroid.
This is the terminal connection detail on the Toroid. Just set it on top of the Secondary Coil, and watch the sparks fly! (Well, as soon as we get it all built...)
This is Gene's concept of a Tesla Circuit. But then again, he's an engineer!
So - That's it, so far. We will do our part to help stop Global Warming by replacing as much of the Ozone Layer as we can. (Don't mention it. :-)
